Training

The Training Division is responsible for assigning the monthly training schedules to each of four platoons. It is also responsible for providing instruction on specialty courses such as water and ice rescue, confined space, pump operations, driver training, high-rise operations, and auto extrication to name a few. The training division works closely with all divisions within the firehall to ensure that all facets of the duties that we provide to the citizens of St. Thomas are to the highest standards.

Construction Advisory Notice - 2013 Sidewalk Replacement Program

The City's Contractor will be commencing spot repair of sidewalk bays on the east side of Stanley Street between Victoria Street and Drake Street, on the south side of Drake Street between Isabel Street and Metcalfe Street and on the west and east sides of Metcalfe Street between Prince Albert Street and Centre Street.

Public Information Centre Notification

The City of St. Thomas Environmental Services Department will be holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) for the development of two new parking lots on the north side of Centre Street on the former CASO Railway Lands with 21 and 34 spaces, respectively, and a new angled parking area with 10 spaces on the west side of Metcalfe Street, for the specified project limits.

The City's Contractor is continuing construction on the Moore Street and L&PS Train Station/Rail Corridor capital projects. The balance of construction work on Talbot Street, after the road closure for the placement of the first lift of base course asphalt on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, involves the installation of curb/gutter, sidewalk, paving stones, second lift of base course asphalt, surface course pavement layer, and other miscellaneous surface works.
