How do I apply for the Fire Department?
The City of St. Thomas runs a recruitment when there is the possibility of an opening occurring in the Fire Department, i.e. future retirement or increasing workforce. When starting a recruitment process, the City works through Applicant Testing Services. This agency handles the initial phase of recruitment including aptitude testing.

All inquiries should be directed to Applicant Testing Services Inc.. No applications will be accepted directly at the City of St. Thomas unless coming through Applicant Testing Services, Inc. They may be reached for further information at

Can I submit my resume even if there's no current job opening?
We only keep resumes on file for casual or temporary positions. Resumes for those positions will be kept on file for 6 months.
 

If you have applied on a casual basis for a position and then see an advertisement for the same or similar position, you must re-apply quoting the appropriate job posting number displayed in the ad.


  
Can I apply if I don't have a resume?
We ask applicants to include a resume as this gives us the clearest information on an applicant's
suitability for a position. If you need help writing a resume, you can find free information online or at the
library.
