PARKS

Visitors to St. Thomas will be impressed by our parks and recreation facilities. We have one of the most outstanding parks systems for a city its size with thirty-five parks spread over 457 acres.

The Parks and Recreation Department invites you to enjoy the beauty and recreational delights of its two main parks:

  • Pinafore Parkin the southwest section of the city, offers ninety acres, (36 hectares) including a beautiful woodlot and numerous walking trails with major events drawing thousands of visitors each year.
  • Waterworks Parkat the northern city limits, is 100 acres, (40 hectares), of rustic charm and ranks with the top beauty spots of Southern Ontario.  35 acres of managed park lands consisting of beautifully manicured gardens, pavilions, playground and splashpad.

******Please note the washrooms are only open in the fall (weather permitting) on the weekends during rentals - mid October approximately closing for the winter. The washrooms will be reopened to the public after the May long weekend.  The splashpads at Pinafore and Waterworks are now closed for the season and will re-open in June 2013.
