LITERACY TRAINING

Studies have shown that education increases job opportunities and improves life skills. For this reason all applicants/participants without a grade 12 education are required to participate in literacy testing.

The purpose of the literacy testing is to identify any participant who lacks basic skills in reading, writing and math. The identified participant will attend a short training period at an educational facility in partnership with Ontario Works. The aim of the training is to offer participants the opportunity to expand their basic knowledge of reading, writing and math skills in order to find and maintain paid employment in today’s job market.
