GETTING STARTED IN EMPLOYMENT ACTIVITY

At your second scheduled visit to the local office, you and your worker will enter into an employment interview where you will sit down and discuss your options in regard to employment activities.

The purpose of the employment interview is to identify each participant’s present and future employment goals, list and document all employment skills previously attained, map out any additional skills required to achieve present and future goals, and finally, sign a mutually agreed upon employment pathway called a Participation Agreement.

The initial Participation Agreement is the first step on the pathway to employment. Subsequent employment interviews and Participation Agreement updates are checks to ensure participants are advancing along the proper employment pathway.   Local labour market forecasting, in conjunction with the individual’s updated employment skills are reviewed at each Participation Agreement update in order to achieve a realistic future goal.
