TAXI LICENCES

Any person wishing to drive a cab in the City of St. Thomas must have a current cab licence.

In order to apply for your cab licence you must have a licence authorization letter from the cab company that is hiring.

Once you have your letter, please bring it to Environmental Services at City Hall where you will be required to complete the City's application form and have your driver's licence photocopied for our records. You will be given a letter to take to your local Police Services requesting that they run a criminal record check. A Provincial guideline states that all cab drivers must successfully complete a criminal police check.

When your police check is completed, the Environmental Services Department at City Hall can then complete your application and issue your licence.

Please note: A criminal records check is required each year. Criminal Police checks must be taken to the Police Services where you reside. Cost for Police Checks vary. The cost for your licence is currently $15.00.

The City's Contractor will be commencing construction on spot repair of sidewalk bays on the east and west side of Isabel Street between Prince Albert Street and Victoria Street, the east side of Queen Street between Wellington Street and St. Annes Place, and the south side of Centre Street between Southwick Street and White Street.

The City's Contractor will be commencing construction on spot repair of sidewalk bays on the east and west side of William Street between St. Annes Place and Centre Street, the east and west side of Hincks Street between Wellington Street and Centre Street, and the east side of Mondamin Street between Talbot Street and Curtis Street.

The City's Contractor is anticipated to commence construction on the following projects: 2013 Road Rehabilitation Program - Hiawatha Street from Curtis Street to Scott Street and First Avenue from Brant Avenue to Locust Street on Friday, May 24, 2013 (weather permitting) with completion by Friday, May 31, 2013 and Monday, June 3, 2013.
